Adaptation A first draft of one panel Infographic

This is my idea of what dogs think of us, as I can do that to my dog all day long and he won't even bat an eyelid. I have already ideas on how to improve this but have to catch the bus first :)

Chirper Chat Function in After Effects

Today I went from this

to this:

It looks much more like a proper chat now, is the line a little too fast maybe? Getting timing right in AE is near impossible because the playback is always delayed or crashes :p

Edit: the line blinks before the typing starts!

Trying effects in After Effects

This is the Fade in Effect in After Effects which is an option for our Animation.

And this is the typewriter effect, which one is better? Sorry for the slight delay, I've recorded After Effects play back which is always a little slow...

Simon's lesson: Image Planes and Batch Rendering

In Simon's lesson today we created a few polygons, rendered them and then imported the render into Photoshop where we painted over and then put it back into Maya as an image plane and material for the polygons. We then added a sphere attached to a curve to create an animation, batch rendered it and made it into a video in After Effects.
This Maya/Photoshop technique is ideal for times when there is no camera movement required.
